About the Bowl-a-Thon

The Joseph D. Freedman Bowl-a-Thon is held every year to benefit the lives of adults with developmental differences living at Camphill Village USA in Copake, NY. The event, now approaching its 9th year, is the brainchild of the siblings of Susie Freedman, who has lived at Camphill since 1977.
This year, we have to take a different approach to this vital fundraiser that Camphill Village so relies upon to continue to provide their amazing programing for adults with developmental disabilities. We hope you'll help us support them from outside of the bowling alley for this 2020 season.
Camphill lies on 615 acres of wooded hills, gardens, and pastures in rural upstate New York, where adults with special needs and long- and short-term service volunteers live and work together as equals in extended family homes throughout the Village.
The founding of Camphill Village in 1961 was part of a transformative movement in the United States to reform how society treats people with special needs. Camphill is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to its mission of being an integrated community where people with developmental differences are living a life of dignity, equality, and purpose.
